Can You Put Lotion In Your Clothes?

In Product Tête-è-Tête on March 11, 2009 at 9:23 am

What if you could put a firming body lotion in your clothes?

AhRT Cosmetics has a way to do it. They made three lotions – one for slimming, one for moisturizing, and one for refreshing effects. The lotions, which contain hemp oil, caffeine or menthol are to be used during machine or hand washing as if they were mere fabric softeners, and the technology that makes it work is called micro-encapsulation.

Micro-encapsulation is a process in which tiny active particles or droplets are surrounded by a coating, in this case a silicone coating, that allow them to spread around when the coating is crushed, during the contact between clothes and the skin, for instance.

The products are available online, through Ahrt’s website ( Products will soon be distributed in mass retail and speciality stores in France.

Think its worth a try?

Hoodia In Your Lip Gloss

In Beauty Spy, Product Tête-è-Tête on February 2, 2009 at 5:11 am

The Skinny Hips half of the product is attributed to the presence of the Hoodia Gordonii extract, a plant native to Southern Africa and found in a number of diet and weight loss supplements due to its appetite suppressing activity.

And it is the vitamin B3 in the formulation which reportedly helps stimulate blood flow to the lips making them appear fuller.

Purple Lab’s Huge Lips, Skinny Hips will debut in Spring 2009 for $20.00 at Scoop and Space.N.K.  But before you buy, Cosmetic Scientist Colin says:

“If you are dieting or overweight do not think that this product will do anything for you apart from maybe leaving you less money to spend on food.”

Lash Liner

In Beauty Spy, Product Tête-è-Tête on January 28, 2009 at 3:19 pm

You want super-sexy, beautiful kitten eyes? So do we, and we’ve just discovered NovaLash’s new LashLiner.

Why is it different? Its not an eyeliner, but a micro-slim pencil designed to reach inside the lash line. An eyeliner can be used on top of it if desired. The LashLiner deposits tiny dots of rich, black color in between each eyelash hair for a thicker, darker lash line.

LashLiner is designed to reach where eyeliner can not. The micro-fine pencil can be sharpened to a super sharp point, and goes on creamy and rich and dark. Use the tiny point to apply little dots of black in between the eyelash hairs. This results in super sexy, bright, beautiful kitten eyes.

In The Makeup also thinks it would be great as an eyeliner for beauties with small eyelids who want a super thin eyeliner.

We haven’t found a national retailer that sells the Lash Liner, but you can go to the NovaLash website and click on their “Find Us” button to find salons and spas that sell Lash Liner.

Let us know what you think of this product!

In Product Tête-è-Tête on November 24, 2008 at 2:09 am

IN THE MAKEUP SAYS: We admit, the humble hairbrush is not the most glamorous item about which to converse. But, glamorous or not, a good hairbrush is a beauty staple. And…. not since the Mason Pierson have we been so excited about a hairbrush.

The Tangle Teezer, a palm-sized hairbrush was named Innovation of the Year by the 2008 British Hairdressing Business Awards.

  • Untangles wigs, wefts, weaves and clip in hair pieces – real or synthetic
  • Suitable for wet or dry hair
  • Perfect for colour treated locks
  • Detangles long, knotty wet hair super quickly
  • Effective on coarse, curly and fine hair prone to knotting
  • Achieves the most amazing backcombing effect

Add it to your beauty collection by ordering online at (It’s priced in pounds, but we found that it will cost 14.86 USD, plus a little shipping)

P.S. FROM IN THE MAKEUP: Even Ben Cooke (the man who created Victoria Beckham’s ‘pob’) confesses to having the Tangle Teezer in his bag, and it was spotted backstage at all the Fashion Weeks this autumn.

Assobar Says:

Gold is one the world’s purest and costliest metal. You’ll understand why when you use it as a facial cleanser.

Gold’s positive ions act as a powerful anti oxidant to penetrate deep into your skin. They react with free radicals to wipe away blotchiness and prevent premature aging.

Science has shown that gold improves collagen growth and reduces the break down of elastin.

Gold stimulates blood flow which in turn increases cell growth, leading to healthy uniform skin.

Gold has been used to relieve arthritis because of its amazing anti inflammatory characteristics. This same wonder on your skin reduces wrinkles and keeps your face firm and attractive.

In The Makeup Says: We don’t really care if it works or not. Sometimes we are just simple creatures; bathing ourselves in gold is reward enough.

Shower Shock

In Product Tête-è-Tête on November 12, 2008 at 8:31 pm

Shower Shock is an all vegetable based glycerine soap scented with peppermint oil and infused with caffeine anhydrous. Each bar of Shower shock contains approximately 12 servings/showers per 4 ounce bar with 200 milligrams of caffeine per serving. The caffeine is absorbed through the skin…

In The Makeup Says: We all know caffeine works. Models wrap their thighs in coffee grounds before a photo shoot. French women swear by caffeine-cellulite creams. Even our beloved Laura Mercier talks about her devotion to cellulite creams in her book The New Beauty Secrets: Your Ultimate Guide to a Flawless Face.

Sadly, we’re undisciplined in daily applications of caffeine to our thighs. We’re just too busy sipping hot cups of it while we contemplate cosmetics. But if the right soap can fight thigh-dimples, we’ll give up our Savon de Marseille.
